2009 DIGITAL ENERGY CONFERENCE

Building on the success of the SPE Digital Energy and Intelligent Energy conferences held in Houston and Amsterdam, respectively, we have organized an international conference to address the key aspects of digital oilfield developments.

The focus of digital oilfield initiatives has shifted from planning and testing to deployment. Technologies have been tested and validated and continue to evolve. Challenges associated with managing sustainable strategies often involve people and process issues. The 2009 SPE Digital Energy Conference will examine these challenges and will emphasize case studies related to people, processes, and technology issues.

This year's program committee is comprised of outstanding industry experts and executives active in SPE International, the SPE Gulf Coast Section, the SPE Information Technology Technical Section, and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

GOLDEN OIL FIRMA EXPLORACION CON COLOMBIA

Seúl, 11 mar (EFE). La petrolera surcoreana Golden Oil firmó un acuerdo con Colombia para explorar yacimientos petrolíferos durante seis años en las regiones del Magdalena y Llanos, según informó el gobierno del país asiático.

El acuerdo firmado con la Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) de Bogotá permitirá a la compañía surcoreana explorar tres áreas que cubren un total de 1.320 kilómetros cuadrados y que han producido 5.000 millones de barriles de crudo desde 2007.

Según los datos del ministerio de Economía surcoreano, Golden Oil ha adquirido el cien por cien de estas tres áreas, aunque no facilitó la cantidad pagada por asegurarse el contrato o cuánto se invertirá en estas zonas, informó la agencia local Yonhap.

En virtud del acuerdo, si la compañía surcoreana descubre nuevos yacimientos de hidrocarburos, podrá explotarlos por un período de 24 años.

Golden Oil, una mediana empresa de exploración y explotación de pozos petrolíferos fundada en 2004, ganó el contrato tras la apertura de un concurso público en junio de 2008.

Asimismo, la compañía estatal surcoreana KNOC y la empresa privada SK Energy disfrutan de sendos acuerdos para explorar otras seis áreas petrolíferas en Colombia de manera independiente.

Colombia tiene las sextas reservas de petróleo de Latinoamérica, con una producción diaria de 560.000 barriles diarios.

GOLDEN OIL EXPLORATION FIRM TO COLOMBIA

Seoul, 11 mar (EFE). The South Korean oil Golden Oil signed an agreement to explore oil fields in Colombia for six years in the regions of Magdalena and Llanos, said the government of the Asian country. The agreement with the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) from Bogota to allow South Korean company to explore three areas covering a total of 1,320 square kilometers and have produced 5,000 million barrels of crude since 2007. According to the Ministry of Economy of South Korea, Golden Oil has acquired one hundred percent of these areas, but did not provide the amount paid to secure the contract or how much will be invested in these areas, the local agency Yonhap reported. Under the agreement, if the South Korean company discovers new reserves of hydrocarbons, may operate for a period of 24 years.
Golden Oil, a medium-sized exploration and exploitation of oil wells founded in 2004, won the contract after the opening of the tender in June 2008. Also, the South Korean company KNOC and private companies SK Energy have agreements to explore for oil in six other areas in Colombia alone. Colombia is the sixth oil reserves in Latin America, with a daily production of 560,000 barrels per day.
